Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar fell unconscious during a confrontation with the police en route to Sandeshkhali, where a scuffle had erupted. Majumdar, who had led a protest at the Basirhat SP office, was arrested along with seven BJP members, leading to an overnight dharna demanding their release. Tensions escalated on Wednesday morning as Majumdar engaged in a verbal dispute with police, culminating in him climbing onto the bonnet of a police car before fainting.
Following the incident, Majumdar was swiftly taken to Basirhat State General Hospital, where he received medical attention. Reports indicate that he was initially given oxygen support in the car before being transferred to the hospital on a stretcher. The situation remains tense amidst conflicting accounts of the altercation and concerns over Majumdar's health.
